SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — A man is dead after a fire in Springfield Township, Mercer County.

Firefighters were called to the 1700-block of Perry Highway just before 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Investigators believe the fire started in the back of the two-story, wood frame house.

A section of Route 19 is still closed in both directions.

The male victim’s name has not been released.
