Drugs Found Inside Pittsburgh Police Officer's SUV

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The KDKA Investigators have learned that drug charges could soon be filed against Pittsburgh Police Officer Adam Skweres.

KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin reports police went to his home with a warrant and searched his SUV in front of his home over the weekend.

"The truck, for instance, had uniforms taken out of it and my understanding is also there was a bag of some nature," Phil DiLucente, Skweres' defense attorney, said.

Marty Griffin: "That appeared to have drugs?"

DiLucente: "It appeared to have drugs."

Sources confirm both the officer's uniforms as well as the narcotics, including what appeared to be marijuana, crack cocaine and what appeared to be illegally obtained prescription drugs, all came from Skweres' duty bag in his truck.

"He's been incarcerated, Marty, so he certainly didn't let them in," DiLucente said. "That means other people have access to his truck. He's still incarcerated."

Skweres is expected to be released from the Allegheny County Jail on Tuesday. At that time, he will be confined to his home on electronic monitoring.
