Pirates President Frank Coonelly Previews 2012 Season

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pirates President Frank Coonelly was greatly impressed with the fan response to a team that was competitive for most of last year.

Even though the last two months were tough, reflecting on last year was overall a positive experience.

In the past, players have been used to recruit other players, but Frank believes that Derrick Lee will stay retired from the game.

Frank did not shed a tear when Prince Fielder and Albert Pujols left the division.  No progress yet to be reported on contract extensions for Andrew McCutchen and Neil Walker.
