3 Suspects Arrested In Armed Robbery At Local McDonald's

SHALER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police in Shaler Township say all three suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a McDonald's early Sunday morning have been taken into custody.

Shaler Township police say they were called to the McDonald's restaurant in the 900-block of William Flynn Highway or Route 8 around 4:30 a.m.

Police say all three suspects had guns and one them was carrying a knife when they entered the restaurant.

According to police, more than $2,000 was taken, and one shot was fired into the ceiling of the restaurant. However, no injuries were reported.

Investigators say one man was taken into custody at the scene. Police have identified him as 23-year-old Louis Rice.

He is facing charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault and terroristic threats, and was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

Later Sunday, police issued arrest warrants for Keith Fields and Gerald Davis, Jr., both 22. Authorities say both have now been taken into custody in connection with the case as well.

Police say they were last spotted in a red Pontiac G6, which was later found in Pittsburgh's Garfield section unoccupied. It has been impounded.

The investigation continues.
