Man Killed In Lawrence County Fire

NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – One person was killed in an early Monday morning fire in Lawrence County.

According to police, the fire broke out at a home in the 200-block of Worthington Avenue around 1:18 a.m. in Neshannock Township.

A New Castle Police officer was the first to arrive at the scene and saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the house.

Conway Brown, 84, was unable to get out of the house and was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, Alvira, was rescued from the home and taken to Saint Elizabeth Hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.

It is believed that an electrical issue was the cause of the fire.
