Kiski River Crash Victim Remembered At Vigil

PARKS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- More than a hundred people gathered along the Kiski River in Armstrong County to remember a young woman who died when the car she was riding in went off the road and into the river.

Nicole Dibler's body was recovered from the back seat. She was 26.

Her sister, Michelle, was behind the wheel, according to police. The two were coming home from Michelle Dibler's bachelorette party.

Police are investigating whether alcohol may have played a role in the crash.

Greg Lattanzi, the victim's uncle, says Michelle Dibler is devastated by the loss of her sister.

A close friend, Amanda Dickey, spoke at the vigil.

"We're in shock," Dickey said in an interview.

Family friend Christine Shellhammer says Michelle Dibler's scheduled wedding will go on as planned this coming weekend. She says the family decided that Nicole would have wanted it that way.
