4-1-Zoo: Blue-Gold Scrimmage Set For North Hills High School

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pitt will hold its annual Blue-Gold scrimmage at North Hills High School April 14th.

Gates will open at Martorelli Stadium at 11 a.m. and kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

First-year head coach Paul Chryst said the idea of moving the game out of Heinz Field and into different communities is exactly what he and his staff had in mind.

"I may be new to Pittsburgh, but I've respected and known about the traditions of Western Pennsylvania high school football for a long time," Chryst said in a statement. "As a first-year coaching staff, we feel it is important to get out and engage the people and communities who have built that tradition. The spring game is a perfect opportunity to do this and we're really looking forward to visiting North Hills in April."

Pitt has recently opened spring practices and will conlude their spring workouts with the Blue-Gold Game.

The Panthers are entering what many expect to be their final year in the Big East Conference before moving to the Atlantic Coast Conference.
