PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Tampa Bay scored three runs in the eighth inning to earn an 8-6 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Thursday afternoon in Spring Training action.

Yamaico Navarro went 3 for 4 for the Pirates with a home run and three RBIs. Rod Barajas also hit a homer in a 2-for-3 day from the plate.

Pedro Alvarez went 0 for 3 from the plate with two strikeouts.

Pirates starer Jeff Karstens pitched five innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits while striking out three and walking four.

Pittsburgh returns to the diamond at 1 p.m. today against Detroit.
