Former Major League Eric Byrnes Previews Buccos Season

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- MLB Network Analyst Eric Byrnes joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about the official start to the major league baseball season taking place in Japan and other season opening thoughts.

Byrnes said the reason the season starts like it does in Japan is due heavily to the draw of Ichiro, and while it puts a little extra cash in the players pockets, the veterans on the teams playing in the games probably aren't real thrilled with the idea because it takes them two weeks to get back into the swing of things.

When asked what chances the Pirates have of winning the division this year, Byrnes responded by simply saying : "None."

The problem he sees with the Pirates is that they have too many middle of the road type players, and not enough elite talent.

We wrapped things up with Byrnes getting his thoughts on the Ryan Braun overturned suspension.
