Charges Expected In Unity Township Shooting
UNITY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a shooting in Unity Township, Westmoreland County.
Police say 30-year-old Francis Poole III was shot in the abdomen on Shadow Lane at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
The suspected shooter, 53-year-old Francis Poole, is a state police barracks. He is expected to be charged with attempted homicide.
The shooting happened as a result of a domestic dispute.
"From what I understand that there was some kind of argument that ensued prior to the gunshot and then for some reason it grew into where the victim was shot with a gun," State Trooper Steve Limani said.
A search warrant was served at the house Friday afternoon.
"Mr. Poole was airlifted to Presbyterian Hospital where he's undergoing treatment from the gunshot wound," Limani said.
The victim is expected to survive.
