Pittsburghers Search For Golden Ticket To Win Mega Millions Jackpot

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The hunt is on today for the Golden Ticket – the series of numbers that will be the ultimate life changer.

Some pick them at random, while others pre-select meaningful numbers, but all have one goal in mind.

"I hope it's the winning ticket," said Mega Millions player Rick Biddle. "I mean, somebody has to win. And I'm as good a candidate as anybody else."

KDKA's Heather Abraham Reports:

"It only takes one ticket to win," said player Stacey Graham. "We have 80! So let's hope."

Graham purchased tickets for 16 coworkers at the Pittsburgh Foundation. She believes that by shopping at five different convenience stores, they increased their odds of winning.

"Five-hundred and forty million. Kind of can't pass that up," Graham said.

KDKA's Jon Greiner Reports:

The largest amount of tickets sold for one person at the Smithfield News was $150 in tickets.

The last time someone won the Mega Millions jackpot was back on Jan. 24. There were 18 drawings and no winners, and the pot continued to grow. You've probably heard by now the impossible odds – the likelihood that this is really not the winning ticket. But what if?

KDKA's Brenda Waters Reports:

In Pennsylvania, no one has ever won the Mega Millions jackpot. With the jackpot this large, what a way to turn that trend around.
