Penguins Recall Brian Strait

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled defenseman Brian Strait Wednesday from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

The move is most likely in response to an undisclosed injury suffered by Matt Niskanen Tuesday night at Boston. Calling up Strait probably means Niskanen will be out at least for tonight's game against the New York Rangers at Consol Energy Center.

Strait has appeared in seven NHL games this season with the Penguins. He has one assist.
