Body Pulled From Yough River

CONNELLSVILLE (KDKA) -- Police in Connellsville, Fayette County, are calling the death of a man found in the Youghiogheny River an apparent drowning.

The man has been identified as 41-year-old Braden Yagla, of Connellsville Township.

Chief James Capitos says there were no signs of foul play, but that it's too early to say if it was an accident or something else.

He says Yagla was found in a shallow area of the river and he still had identification and money in his wallet.

Police searched the riverbank at Yough Park for clues. Chief Capitos says Yagla had a prosthetic leg which has not been found.

Friends of Yagla showed up at the park as soon they heard. Cindy Hillen said it was hard to even think about what happened.

"It's just really upsetting," said Hillen.

An autopsy will be performed Friday.

Stay with KDKA for the latest developments.
