Severe Thunderstorms & Damaging Winds Expected Monday

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – An approaching cold front will bring the threat of damaging winds to the area during the afternoon and early evening hours on Monday.

KDKA-TV Meteorologist Dennis Bowman reports that there will be gusty winds developing and there is potential for severe thunderstorms.

A Wind Advisory has been posted for the entire area for winds that will exceed 45 MPH.

The key time frame for this wind activity is 2 p.m. to 10 p..m.

Along the way, expect to see some sunshine and a high near 80 degrees.

Any storms will end early Monday evening and after the cold front passes, skies will clear and it will turn cooler.

Monday night's low is 45 degrees and Bowman reports that Tuesday's high will be 65 degrees with partly sunny skies.
