Fish Saved After Truck Plows Through Yard In North Huntingdon

NORTH HUNTINGDON (KDKA) -- A truck hit a house in Westmoreland County.

Joe Brugnoli was in the basement of his North Huntingdon home early Tuesday afternoon when he heard the impact.

"And I come running up and here was a truck sitting right against – well, it hit the building over there and then sitting right across my fish pond here and when I come out and look I just couldn't believe what was going on," he told KDKA-TV.

A truck had run off Clay Pike and through Brugnoli's shrubs. It continued through his yard and fish pond before stopping on his front porch.

The impact so great it shattered his front windows and sent debris flying onto his wife's car.

The driver of the truck wasn't injured and firefighters were able to rescue all 13 of Brugnoli's goldfish that were living in the pond.

"That was my main concern honest to God," he said. "Nobody else was hurt. I was concerned about my fish. Firemen dug in and got them all out."

Brugnoli and his wife still have a good bit of cleaning up to do, but are thankful the accident wasn't worse.

"This fire hall up here is one of best around here," he said. "As soon as something happens, they're there in a minute. Honest to God, every time, every time."
