PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — An accident involving a tractor trailer near the Interstate 79 – I-279 split is backing up traffic this evening.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes in the Franklin Park area.

Both the Pirates and Penguins are both playing in town tonight, so a lot of people are headed that way.

Commuters are being urged to avoid the area if possible.

According to initial reports, there are injuries.

There is no word yet on what caused the crash.
