1 Killed In Beaver Co. Motorcycle Crash

CHIPPEWA (KDKA) – One person was killed in an early Saturday morning motorcycle crash in Beaver County.

According to police, the accident happened on Interstate 376 in Chippewa around 12:06 a.m.

A 2007 Honda CBR 600 was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. The motorcycle then traveled through the median and struck a guide wire post.

The driver, Justin Carland, 28, of Industry, was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he later died.

Police believe Carland was under the influence of alcohol, but toxicology results are currently pending.
