Pens Beat Writer Josh Yohe Takes A Look Back At Loss, And A Look Forward To Offseason

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The Trib Pens beat writer Josh Yohe joined Joe Starkey and Josh Miller of Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93.7 The FAN to put a bow on this Penguins season and dissect where it all went wrong.

Yohe said it's almost impossible to be too hard on the Pens right now given that this is the third straight year in which they have failed to make it past the second round of the playoffs.

We also got a look into the Pens locker room after yesterday's game and what the atmosphere was like as Josh talked with the players following the loss.

One thing that really stuck out to Josh was Jordan Staal being one of the last players to leave the locker room after the game, which is appropriate given that Staal will probably be the biggest storyline of the offseason as the team tries to find a way to extend his contract.

Yohe thinks Staal and his agent will be looking for a deal in the neighborhood of 7 years, $45 million, and he will most likely get offered that from teams around the league if the Pens don't extend his contract beyond the one year left on it.
