PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A bicyclist was sent to the hospital after an accident in Lawrenceville this morning.

Officials say the cyclist lost control of his bicycle when he tried to swerve out of the path of a pothole at 48th and Butler Streets.

He hit the back of the car and broke the window.

He was conscious and alert at the scene, but medics took him to a local hospital as a precaution.

Officials say he was wearing a helmet.

There is no word on his condition.
