Pittsburgh Man Claims He Was Beaten For "Driving While Black"

PITTSBURGH(NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- A North Side man claims he was assaulted by Pittsburgh Police after being pulled over for "minor traffic violations."

Anthony Kenney, 38, says he was struck twice in the head and then punched multiple times by Pittsburgh Police officers after being handcuffed.

Kenny's attorney, Tim O' Brien, says: "The crime is 'driving while black,' a practice the City of Pittsburgh uses. The practice commonly leads to the beating of people who are black."

KDKA's Marty Griffin talked to Kenny as well as attorney Margaret Shuetz about the incident.
