Family's New Home Destroyed By Fire In Somerset Co.

SOMERSET TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A fire in Somerset County destroyed a family's new home this weekend.

According to officials at the scene, the fire broke out at a home on Levansville Road in Somerset Township around 9:26 a.m.

Eight fire departments were called to help knock down the blaze and they were still dealing with some hot spots around 1 p.m.

According to the fire chief, a family was in the process of moving into the home. They had left the home to get more things to bring back. When they returned, the home was engulfed in flames.

There were no reported injuries and the state police fire marshal in Somerset was called to investigate the cause of the fire.

State police say the damage is estimated at $110,000.
