Owner Returns To Pine Twp. House With Police Escort

PINE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- The owner of a house in Pine Township where drugs and explosive materials were found returned Monday.

After being locked out for days, Theresa Gaugler and her family were allowed back into the house to retrieve personal items with a police escort.

The chemical cleanup of the house is expected to take several more days than expected.

"This is one house no one knew about," Evie Varshine, a neighbor, said. "Are there any more in our neighborhood?"

The house has been sealed since Saturday when police, the FBI and ATF found explosives – a discovery they happened upon after being called to the home for a party with underage drinking.

"It is scary," Varshine said. "It's scary because of everything that goes on with the bombs anymore and when they said they found some bomb-making materials, I was really worried that maybe they had planned on using it at some school or something."

KDKA-TV tried to get a comment from Gaugler, but she opted not to say anything.

No one has been charged. Police say it could be a week to two weeks before they get a handle on what charges should be filed.
