Vandals 'Turfing' At Latrobe Golf Course

LATROBE (KDKA) -- The operators of a golf course in Westmoreland County want to find out who has been driving ATVs on their greens – and now the business is offering a reward.

Officials believe it was likely two people rode quads on the Latrobe Elks Golf Course overnight, damaging the greens of holes two and three.

It will cost about $1,500 to repair. This is at least the fourth time this has happened over the last few years.

"Our grounds crew works very hard on keeping our course in good shape for our members and guests and it's very frustrating to keep on dealing with this problem," Latrobe Elks Golf Pro Rick Battaglia said.

Police say they are taking this seriously and are already following up on leads.

"And we're going to do everything we can to find these people that committed this crime and prosecute them to the fullest," State Trooper Steve Limani said.

If you have information about who is causing the damage, you can contact the golf pro at the Latrobe Elks Golf Course or State police in Greensburg.
