DUQUESNE (KDKA) — A Duquesne woman has been charged with abusing her son.

Police in Duquesne say they found 28-year-old Brenda Thompson’s little boy freshly bruised and screaming last night.

Officers found the 7-year-old boy standing in the living room naked, wearing only socks on his hands and feet.

Thompson had been beating him with a belt.

Thompson said she was allowed to beat him because she works for CYF; however, the organization says Thompson has never worked for them.

She has been charged with reckless child endangerment, simple assault, aggravated assault and drug violations.

The boy was placed in protective custody.
