School District Withdraws Court Action Against Grove City Family

GROVE CITY (KDKA) – The Grove City Area School District and the family of an 11-year old boy who has been absent numerous times this year have worked out an agreement.

The district is no longer threatening to take the boy and his family to court.

Zachary Zorbas has colitis, among other things, which has kept him out of classes at the Hillview Elementary School more than two months so far this year.

The school district threatened court action because of the youth's repeated absences.

Friday night, the boy's father, Steve Zorbas told KDKA-TV that the district has withdrawn the threat because he and his wife will from now on provide the school with the necessary doctor's medical information, explaining why the boy will miss class.

Zorbas says his son remains undergoing tests at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He also says the district also agreed to ask CYS to terminate an investigation of the family.
