MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — It’s a somber prom night for Burgettstown High School.

One of their classmates was killed this morning in a head-on crash in Smith Township, Washington County.

Police say 18-year-old Aaron Herriott was speeding and crossed the center line on Joffre Bulger Road. His car collided with a minivan driven by 60-year-old John Aloiuse. He and his wife died.

Their son, Scott, was injured.

Superintendent Deborah Jackson said the administration decided to go ahead with the prom at the Doubletree Hotel in Moon because Aaron would have wanted it that way.
