Teacher Fights Off Would-Be Robber In Hill District

HILL DISTRICT (KDKA) – A female teacher fought off a would-be robber Wednesday morning as she reported for work.

According to school officials, the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. at University Prep 6-12 near the intersection of Centre Avenue and Ewart Drive.

A substitute teacher was approached by a man in his 30s wearing a bandana. He pushed the woman and she pushed back and pulled off his bandana.

At that time, the man pulled out a gun and the teacher ran into the school.

She wasn’t injured and the suspect got away.
