Suspect In Morningside Shooting Taken Into Custody

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police say an arrest has been made in connection with deadly shooting last weekend at a park in Morningside.

According to police, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force took Julian Davis into custody Thursday evening in West Mifflin.

Davis is facing charges of criminal homicide, theft and carrying a firearm without a license.

The overnight shooting on May 13 near Joe Natoli Field claimed the life of 22-year-old Shakkeem Harris of East Liberty.

Investigators say Harris went to the park to meet Davis "to hang out and talk."

Authorities say officers found Harris lying in a grassy area near a back entrance to the park when they were called there for multiple reports of shots fired around 1 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
