Fayette Co. Courthouse Deals With Pest Problem

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) — Employees at the Fayette County Courthouse say they’ve seen rats and other pests in the building.

A rat was spotted scurrying across the floor of the sheriff’s office a couple of weeks ago. More have frequently been spotted in other basement offices.

A county judge reportedly saw one on a staircase.

Employees also say they’ve seen snakes outside of the public defender’s office.

The pests are believed to be due to a window replacement project currently underway.

Fayette county commissioners did not return calls seeking comment.
