Consumer Reports Tests, Rates Gas Grills
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — As we head into the Memorial Day weekend, plenty of people will be firing up their grills.
If you are in the market for a gas grill, Consumer Reports put a number of grills to the test – from expensive grills to more modestly priced grills.

Taking the top spot, the highest scoring grill is Vermont Castings’ Signature Series VCS322SSP mid-sized grill. It’s $1,000.
But you don’t have to spend a fortune on a grill.
Among the top 15 are four grills under $250. One of them is the Char-Broil Classic 463211512 from Home Depot. It costs $200.
In testing grills, Consumer Reports looked at overall performance and features, cooking evenness at low and high heat, construction materials, ease of use, propensity of flare ups and price.
