High Winds Knock Down Porch In McKees Rocks

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA) -- High winds apparently caused the porch of a house in McKees Rocks to collapse.

It happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Third Street.

Don Zink, who lives in the house, said he got the phone call from a neighbor while he was at work. His two sons were home watching television.

His home is considered uninhabitable at this point and the gas company has already shut off service to the house.

Alex Zink, 13, was inside the house during the collapse and heard a loud noise.

"I didn't know what was happening, so I walked upstairs and looked out the window and there's this debris everywhere and the roof was on there and some guy was motioning for us to come outside," he said. "So we went out through the back and then we went to the neighbor's."

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
