Should We Let Our Kids Play? Concussions Are on the Rise

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – Kids horse around, play at playgrounds, and join organized sports teams, but are we allowing our kids to be too exposed to injury?

Concussions are on the rise from skateboarding, horseback riding, skiing, bicycling, etc., and everyday we see more concern for kids playing sports like football and hockey where concussions sometimes go unchecked.

KDKA-AM’s Larry and John talk to Dr. Joseph Maroon, team neurologist for the Pittsburgh Steelers and one of the country’s premier neurology doctors, about the staggering numbers of concussions and how the conversation is changing to more concern for kids’ health.
