Warehouse Goes Up In Flames In McKees Rocks

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA) -- It was a long night for firefighters who battled flames at a vacant warehouse in McKees Rocks.

When crews got to the 300-block of Linden Avenue, the flames were shooting from the windows and the roof top.

Because of the location and the size of the building, the chief says getting water there was tough.

"We bumped into a water problem because of the length of the hose and the distance the water has to travel, so we set up drop tank operations to assist in getting additional water because we needed an awful lot of water to knock this down," said Chief Nick Nadoycis, of the McKees Rocks Fire Department.

The fire spread to the building next door, which houses a limousine service, but the flames were quickly extinguished.

A third building also sustained minor damage.

No one was hurt.
