Fayette Co. Bank Robbery Suspect Sought

HOPWOOD (KDKA) – Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an armed bank robbery in Fayette County Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the incident happened around noon at the PNC Bank in Hopwood.

"There was no physical contact with any of the tellers, there were no injuries that were sustained by anyone here staff wise at the bank but he did have a handgun and he did demand the cash from the tellers," State Trooper Stefani Plume said.

The suspect entered the bank, brandished a black handgun and demanded cash. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, he fled the bank.

"He fled in the same way that he entered the building through the door on foot as far as we know and at this point and time they're still looking for that gentleman," Plume said.

He is described as being a white male in his mid 20s.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-888-404-TIPS.
