PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — High School pitching prospect Jonathan Sandfort joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about getting drafted by the Pirates, and whether or not he’ll pass on his commitment to the University of Florida.

Sandfort told us he is ready to sign his contract and will report to camp on Monday so he can get his pro career started.

When it comes to what kind of player the Pirates just got, Jon told us he tops out at 96 on the radar gun and isn’t afraid to brush players back off the plate.

When asked about foregoing his college career and possibly passing up more money down the road if he got drafted higher a few years from now, Sandfort said it isn’t about the money right now, it’s about getting his pro career started so he can sign that big money contract by getting to the majors sooner.
