Police Searching For Bellevue Bank Robbery Suspect

BELLEVUE (KDKA) – Police are looking for a woman in connection with a bank robbery Thursday morning in Bellevue.

According to emergency dispatchers, the incident happened at the Citizens Bank in the 400-block of Lincoln Avenue around 10 a.m.

The suspect is described as a white female wearing grey sweatpants, white tennis shoes, a beige sweater or sweatshirt with sunglasses and a Steelers hat. She is also believed to be between 60 and 70 years of age.

She was carrying a blue Kuhn's bag, which she claimed had a bomb inside.

"I've been working here for 12 years and I've never had any kind of information or seen anything like that," Bellevue Police Sgt. Earl Grubbs said.

The First Niagara Bank across the street was also robbed recently, but the incidents are not believed to be related.

The FBI is now taking over the investigation.

"They'll be taking all the information that [is] gathered from the employees in the bank and they will be analyzing the video and the pictures from the security cameras," Grubb said.
