Woman Rescued After Car Goes Over Hillside In West Mifflin

WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA) -- A woman had to be rescued after her car went over a hillside in West Mifflin.

The accident happened near Rodeo Drive and Lebanon Church Road Wednesday evening – right next to the fire station.

Bob Neill was running a car cruise behind the West Mifflin Volunteer Fire Department No. 3 when he heard the crash that sent the car 30-feet down the hill.

"She got T-boned on the one side and then hit with something else I think and then went over the hill," Neill said. "We heard trees cracking and everything else."

The fire chief said the woman, who is in her 30s, ended up trapped in her overturned car.

"She was still pretty calm at the time," West Mifflin Fire Chief Steve Schwab said. "She was real cooperative with us, working with us to get her extricated and up the hillside."

Firefighters put her in a basket and used ropes to get her up the hill.

The woman was taken to a local hospital and there is no word on her condition.
