4-1-Zoo: James Robinson Named Finalist For USA U18 Team

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Incoming freshman guard James Robinson was named as a finalist for the USA U18 national team Thursday night.

He's one of 14 finalists, which will be widdled down to 12 for the 2012 FIBA Americas Under-18 championship June 16-20 in Brazil.

Robinson was one of 24 athletes invited to try out for the team and survived the first cut.

The team is chosen by the USA Men's Junior National Team Committee, which is chaired by Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim. Florida's Billy Donovan will serve as head coach for the squad, while Gonzaga's Mark Few and VCU's Shaka Smart are the assistant coaches.

If Robinson makes the team it will be his second international basketball experience. He played for Team USA in the 2012 Nike Hoop Summit April 7.
