Brighton Heights Man Charged With Stalking Teen Girl

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Pittsburgh man was ordered to stand trial on two counts of stalking and one count of attempting to lure a child into his motor vehicle.

Pittsburgh Police say 76-year-old Harold Mudd, of Brighton Heights, tried to get a 15-year-old girl into his silver Chevy pickup truck twice recently, but both times she went to police to report the luring attempts.

During their investigation into those two incidents, detectives learned of an incident involving another girl and Mudd back in 2010, which they say also took place in the Brighton Heights neighborhood.

That teenager was able to obtain the license plate number that Mudd was driving.

"It's pretty scary, very scary, knowing that there's somebody out there that would try to harm a child," Pam Welsh, a Brighton Heights mother of two, told KDKA-TV.

"It's sickening to me. If there's somebody out there that wants to harm children, then they should definitely be put away for good."
