Fans Pack PNC Park For Pirates & Concert

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Pirates kept their winning ways by beating the Kansas City Royals 5-3 at PNC Park. Saturday night.

Fans have started to catch Pirates Fever as PNC Park was sold out for the fourth time this season.

The Pirates are just one game out of first place in the NL Central behind the Cincinnati Reds.

Fans attending last night's game were also treated to a free Boyz II Men concert.

The Pirates have been on a tear lately, having won 11 of their last 14 games.

"I think [James] McDonald has matured a lot and I think that's because of [Rod] Barajas. I think he's going to be helping the pitching staff stay strong all year," Harold White said.

"I think we finally are building a team. We have a lot of great fantastic young guys playing hot. We've got offense, we're finally starting to get our pitching together. I think we're on the road to something. I'm not saying we're going to be in the playoffs, but we're going to finish higher than we have in the last how many years," Jean Boyle said.

The Pirates will close out their three-game weekend series with the Royals Sunday afternoon.
