Marshmallow Fork Attack Victim: She Didn't Mean To Hit Me

OHIOVILLE (KDKA) -- Police say a woman attacked her boyfriend with a fork used to roast marshmallows.

It happened at a Ridgemont Drive home in Ohioville Tuesday night.

The victim, Chris Aeshenbacher, says he and Sarah Chambers got into a fight that quickly got out of control.

He says neither of them has gotten much sleep since their baby was born and their nerves were frayed.

"He [doesn't] breathe good when he's sleeping, so someone always has to be awake," Aeshenbacher explained.

He says Chambers didn't mean to hurt him.

"She didn't mean to hit me with that marshmallow thing that they said," he said.

Aeshenbacher says he was cut by glass from the door when she smashed the door with the fork.

"Sarah's a good mom. I know that," he said. "She [doesn't] need to be locked up. If anything maybe some help."

She also has a 4-year-old daughter. Aeshenbacher says a CYS caseworker believes Chambers may have postpartum depression.

"I want to get her out of jail whether she wants to be with us or not," he said. "It's her decision."

Police say they have responded to numerous calls at the address because of domestic problems.

Chambers remains at the Beaver County Jail on aggravated assault charges.
