MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — A woman and her child are recovering following a rollover crash Friday evening in Moon Township.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. along I-376 Business Loop West near International Drive.

According to Moon Township police, the 7-year-old child was ejected from the vehicle when it veered off the roadway and then rolled over several times.

Police say witnesses helped the child’s mother get out of the wreckage.

The 7-year-old was taken by medical helicopter to Children’s Hospital. The child’s mother was transported by ambulance to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Their injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Moon Township police crash reconstructionists are investigating.
