PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pirates Setup Man Jason Grilli was “wired” with Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about his role in the bullpen and how he has revived his career in Pittsburgh.

Grilli said he is having a lot of fin with the Pirates fan base that has completely embraced him since he got here.  Jason told us about the struggles early in his career, and what changed and turned him into the dominant back-end of the bullpen pitcher he is today.

We also broached the topic of what happens in the bullpen if Joel Hanrahan gets traded, and Jason said he’d hate to lose Hanrahan because of what a great teammate and closer he is, but he’d be ready to step up if the team needed him.

We wrapped things up talking about the weekend Pedro Alvarez had, and what it’s like for the team when he gets hot like this.
