Burglary Suspect Caught In Beaver County

BEAVER (KDKA) -- A burglary suspect was arrested in Beaver County.

Samuel Zakutney, 25, of Hookstown, led police on a chase after trying to cash a bad check at the Huntington bank in Rochester Borough.

Police were looking for him in several burglaries, including one Tuesday.

After leaving the bank, he took off in a pickup truck, pulled over a few miles away and ran into the woods in Daugherty Township.

State police helicopter and a K-9 unit were part of the search effort. He was found hiding in a drain pipe.

Zakutney was arrested about a mile away on Route 68 when a neighbor called 911 to report a man seen running across the road with no shirt on.

Lt. Eric Hermick with State Police in Beaver, said several warrants were out for Zakutney's arrest and the investigation is continuing.
