PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Philadelphia Phillies play-by-play announcer for Comcast Sports Network, Tom McCarthy, joined the The Fan Morning Show on Monday to preview the upcoming four-game set with the Pirates.

The Phillies have been plagued by injuries this season, and the team is nine games out of first place in the NL East. Tom tells us that the city of Philadelphia has no sympathy for them, though, because they expect to be in first place in that division, regardless of their injury situation.

Tom says the Phillies have had little success in Pittsburgh recently.

Given their recent struggles, they will be happy to get outfielder Chase Utley back in the lineup this week. Tom says Utley could play as soon as Wednesday.
