Man Critically Injured In Squirrel Hill Pedestrian Accident

SQUIRREL HILL (KDKA) – A man remains in critical condition after a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Squirrel Hill Tuesday.

According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Wilkins Avenue and Wightman Street around 9:30 a.m.

Witnesses said the man was crossing the road when a red or maroon mid-size vehicle struck him and sped up Wightman Street toward Fair Oaks.

The victim, a 68-year-old man from Squirrel Hill, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.

He was last listed in critical condition.

The impact of the crash knocked the mirror off the vehicle, and police were able to bag it as evidence.

No arrests have been made at this time.
