Shero: 'Not Looking To Trade Paul Martin'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Following a busy weekend for the Pittsburgh Penguins, General Manager Ray Shero, joined the Fan Morning Show to break down his picks and transactions.

Ray pulled the trigger on the difficult deal that saw Jordan Staal traded to Carolina. He tells us that the move would not have been made had the Penguins not received Brandon Sutter as an immediate return.

Ray also talks about the future prospects that the Penguins received in Brian Dumoulin, and the 8th overall pick this year in Derrick Pouliot, and how they will continue to give the Penguins great defensive depth.

Paul Martin did not have his best season. Ray tells the show, "I'm not looking to trade Paul Martin," and that he expects him to have a much better season than last year.

We also get a clarification that you might want to hear about why Ray brought in Tomas Vokoun to back up Marc-Andre Fleury.
