Hurricanes Fans Happy To Get Staal, Devastated To Lose Sutter

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Carolina Hurricanes television play by play announcer John Forslund joined The Fan Morning Show to tell let the fans know more about the newest Penguin center Brandon Sutter.

Forslund says Sutter is the real deal and a perfect fit for the Penguins. "Brandon is only at the beginning of a career that is going to be great," Forslund said.

He said he is a great two-way player and was probably the Hurricanes' best and smartest defensive player. He comes from a great blood line. He is the total package with his great play and a true character guy. The fans here are going to love him.

He said the Hurricanes are in a critical year. They have to make the playoffs and they felt they needed to make a move to upgrade and they found Staal to be a great fit with his brother.

Forslund tells us he was hosting a Hurricanes Draft Party on the air the night of the NHL Draft and when the trade was announced the fans were elated to hear they were getting Staal, but were devastated to be losing Sutter.
