Dog Found Suffering From Heat Stroke Expected To Recover

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There are new details on a dog that was found unconscious in Friday's sweltering temperatures.

Officials say the animal is expected to make a full recovery.

The yellow Labrador was suffering from heat stroke after it collapsed and was unresponsive in Pittsburgh's Homewood section Friday afternoon.

Animal Rescue League officials say it had a temperature of 108.8 degrees and had to be packed in ice to bring its temperature down.

Officials say the dog is improving today and is now able to walk.

The owners could face charges pending the outcome of an active investigation.
