PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — Minnesota Wild Beat Writer Michael Russo camped out at the airport earlier today as Zach Parise was flying into his hometown to catch up with the top free agent, and he joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to fill us in on where Parise Watch stands.

Michael said Parise told he has decided to get away from everything and decompress in his hometown while weighing his options. Russo does believe we could still get an answer today though.

We also got Russo’s thoughts on where Parise fits best, and where he sees him landing. From what Michael has heard, the Flyers have offered Parise more than the Pens, but he is still hearing that the Pens and Devils are the favorites.

Michael also told us how impressed he’ll be with Pens GM Ray Shero is he’s able to make the Staal trade and clear the cap space this offseason to sign Parise.
